In this role, the Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) is tasked with strategically managing recruitment and contract management at Southlake Regional Health Centre. Operating within a multi-union setting, the focus lies in supporting hiring managers with sourcing and selection within a designated portfolio. This involves developing, promoting, and executing recruitment strategies for current and future job openings. The primary goal is to foster a positive experience for both internal and external candidates, while promoting our employer brand. The Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) collaborates with Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP) to deliver comprehensive HR services to the client group.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manages the entire recruitment process by efficiently supporting the Management team in all aspects of recruitment including developing recruitment strategies based on the specific portfolio needs while adhering to collective agreement guidelines.
• Proactively develop and implement comprehensive sourcing and recruitment strategies to meet portfolio objectives including providing advice and guidance with respect to appropriate advertising strategies for external postings, using social media (i.e. LinkedIn) and professional job posting boards and networks to advertise positions.
• Represent and promote Southlake’s brand at external recruitment events in a positive and professional manner.
• Develop new sourcing channels and strategies to diversify and build the talent pipeline of high potential candidates. ( Job Fairs, campus recruitment events, and other events as required)
• Work closely with HRBP’s and the management team to address talent gaps and proactively support those gaps.
• Participates in the development and implementation of Human Resource policies, procedures and programs.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws, privacy legislation, recruitment policies, processes and procedures

Skills & Abilities

• Minimum 3 years’ experience working in a recruitment role with a focus on developing strategy, reporting, building talent pipelines, and campus recruitment in a fast paced, high volume dynamic environment
• Experience working in a unionized environment strongly preferred
• Advanced proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS), preferably Workday, Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other HR software.
• Demonstrated knowledge of employment legislation, collective agreements and key HR functions
• Ability to function independently and as a member of a team in a busy and complex environment.
• Strong time management, planning and organizational skills to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines with a high level of composure.
• Superior professional judgment, diplomacy and relationship building skills. Your service philosophy revolves around excellence, demonstrated through client service skills, empathy, confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with team members, candidates and stakeholders
• Knowledge and understanding of Human Resources metrics and their relevance in measuring recruitment success.
• This position will require a positive Vulnerable Sector Check.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in Business/Human Resource or other related field
• CHRP/CHRL or actively working towards completion preferred
