Job Summary

The Clinical Dietitian works at Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation as a member of the Health Care Team to provide their professional expertise to facilitate and optimize participant well-being. The Clinical Dietitian functions in a teaching role with participants who experienced a recent cardiac admission or procedure. The program is aligned to support participants in the Cardio-Oncology and Heart Function programs. He/she acts as a resource to members of the Cardiac Rehabilitation team to provide and promote nutritional knowledge through individual and group counselling.
Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation is located in the Magna Centre. Onsite day and evening hours are required.

Skills & Abilities

• Clinical experience in a hospital outpatient setting
• Experience with cardiac patients is an asset
• CDE certification an asset
• Clinical teaching experience required
• Experience with behaviour change strategies
• Experience with individual counselling
• Experience group education sessions using various learning techniques
• Courses in adult education and self-management an asset
• Experience in clinical research is an asset
• Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated problem assessment skills
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
• Demonstrated individual leadership skills

Qualifications

Registered Dietitian in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
