Job Summary

Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG)

Southlake Regional Health Centre is a proud participant in the Nursing Graduate Guarantee Initiative (NGG). The Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) is a program funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Through this initiative, Southlake supports new Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses by providing them with a full-time employment opportunity, above staffing complement. This improves their transition into practice, and into full-time employment.

The NGG Program at Southlake consists of:

1. Nursing and interprofessional orientation learning modules to support comprehensive understanding of Standards and Policies
2. A competency based learning pathway and learning plan to support the nurse’s learning needs
3. 12 weeks preceptored shifts for unit(s) specific to NGG hire, to support the transition of the new graduate into practice
4. Maintain regular check-ins and mentorship with the Nurse Educator

Have you completed a clinical placement with Southlake? If you have, please connect with the unit manager or Human Resources to discuss your potential candidacy for the New Graduate Guarantee Program. Please note that you will still need to apply through the HFO Portal.

Southlake will be offering New Graduate Guarantee (NGG) opportunities in the following Programs:

Medicine Program
Surgical Program
Cardiac Program
Mental Health Program
Emergency Department

As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety department. Successful candidates will be required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination (two doses) from the Ontario Ministry of Health website or other authorized source directly to the Occupational Health and Safety department. In the event that you are unable to be vaccinated as a result of a ground protected under the Human Rights Code, you may submit a written explanation of the ground and any supporting documentation to determine if you are exempt from this requirement to the recruitment team. A recruitment representative may follow up with you for further information if necessary.
