Southlake Regional Health Centre Foundation

Since the inception of Southlake Foundation in 1980, more than $222 million has been raised in support of Southlake Regional Health Centre. Working with members of our communities, volunteers, our Southlake Family and our dedicated donors, Southlake Foundation will continue to support the most urgent needs of our hospital, including things like life-saving medical equipment, infrastructure upgrades and expansions, patient programs and staff education, all for the goal of providing leading edge care for patients and families, close to home. About the Events and Community Partnerships Team

The Events and Community Partnerships Team leads the planning and execution of Special Events, supports Community Event partners including VIP Community Events ( revenue >$50K), and delivers the Foundation’s community fundraising activities. The overall revenue for this team exceeds $5 million during Gala years.

Primary Responsibilities

The Coordinator, Events and Community Partnerships is the primary support for the planning, administration and execution of Special Events (Run for Southlake, Golf and Gala) and provides support to community event organizers. With a strong service orientation, as the support hub for all community fundraising and events, the position performs a wide variety of administrative services from complex to routine, ensuring the efficient and professional operation of community fundraising to meet Foundation revenue goals. The role is the support hub for all community fundraising activities.

Skills & Abilities

• University Degree, Diploma or a combination of comparable relevant skills and experience; education in a fundraising or events management program is an asset.
• 2 years relevant experience in fundraising or event management preferably in a non-profit environment.
• Service orientation with excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Resourceful, independent and comfortable working in a fast-paced team environment with a demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities.
• Advanced organization and planning skills, with an acute attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated judgment, diligence and professionalism.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with donor databases (such as Raiser’s Edge/NXT) an asset.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Develop and be able to communicate a strong understanding of Southlake’s and the Foundation’s strategic priorities and exemplify Southlake’s shared values:

Qualifications

As the successful candidate you must have a valid driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and the ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
