Job Summary

We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to provide coverage to all areas of the hospital.

The successful candidate will be motivated, self-directed and a key member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team with defined roles focused on quality patient care and patient flow. The successful candidate will be responsible to provide excellent care to a diverse acute medical patient population in a fast-paced setting.

New regular part-time employees hired into this department will be eligible for the Bonus Incentive payment of up to $4000.00 payable at established internals over the course of the first 2 years of continuous active employment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Providing Respiratory Therapy coverage in the birthing unit, critical care units, emergency department, wards and the pulmonary function lab.
• Member of the CCOT team, responsible for responding to various codes within the organization.
• Responsible for setup, maintenance and monitoring of respiratory equipment.

Skills & Abilities

• Experience with asthma and COPD patient education preferred
• Knowledge of adult education principles an asset
• Experience working with paediatrics and neonates preferred
• Participates in the CRTO’s Quality Assurance Program
• Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated problem assessment skills
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
• Demonstrated individual leadership skills
• Demonstrated commitment to, and understanding of the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion
• Models behaviour that is aligned with the values of Southlake Regional Health Center

Qualifications

• RRT registered with the College of Respiratory Therapists in the General Class
• Practice according to the standards and guidelines set out by the College
• BCLS and NRP required
• ACLS preferred

As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety department. Successful candidates will be required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination (two doses) from the Ontario Ministry of Health website or other authorized source directly to the Occupational Health and Safety department.
