Job Summary

RD to cover acute pediatric inpatient floor, NICU (Level 2C), and pediatric outpatients. Case load can vary through the week and could include a variety of patients who need nutritional assessment, therapeutic diet modifications and diet teaching. Will include initiation, assessment and monitoring of enteral and parenteral care plans.

Qualifications

• Registered Dietitian in good standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario
• Minimum of two years clinical nutrition experience in an acute care hospital preferred, pediatric experience required.
• Experience should include independently managing complex acute pediatric patients, including pediatric oncology patients.
• Ability to assess, initiate and manage pediatric enteral and parental nutrition care plans.
• Experience with pediatric outpatients and counseling on issues related to allergies, behavioural feeding issues, celiac disease, and reflux.
• Experience with donor milk for preterm infants.
• Good time management and works independently
• Demonstrates collaborative working relationships with interdisciplinary team members in both an ambulatory and in-patient environment.
• Excellent interpersonal, customer service and team, written and verbal communication skills.
• Supports and enables evidence-based practice in the professional milieu.
• Demonstrates a commitment to patient-centred care.
• Demonstrates critical thinking skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Word
• Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
• Demonstrated problem assessment skills
• Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
• Demonstrated individual leadership skills
