Job Summary

• The Emergency department charge Registered Nurse works within the Standards of Nursing Practice as determined by the College of Nurses, Regulated Health Professions Act, July 1996, Regulations, Nursing Act (Bill 57), the Guidelines of Ethical Behaviour, policies and practices of the hospital.

Qualifications

• Previous Charge experience in the Emergency department required
• 5 years’ recent emergency experience required
• Current RN Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
• Competent in CPR
• BCLS certified, ACLS /PALS/TNCC/NVCI required
• ENC (C) preferred
• Humber’s CCI course or equivalent in the last 2 years with practical experience
• Humber’s physical assessment course or equivalent in the last five years
• Knowledge of basic arrhythmia interpretation
• Demonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbal
• Analysis / problem assessment
• Innovative and willing to learn
• Commitment to customer service and teamwork
• Demonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbal
