Job Summary

Our Birthing Unit offers private birthing rooms where mothers labour, birth, and recover in a warm and comfortable home-like setting. Each room is spacious and includes a three-piece washroom, a pull-out chair for the mother's partner to spend the night and enough space for the family and friends to visit. Two fully equipped Operating Rooms and a recovery room are located within the Birthing Unit for both elective and emergency caesarean sections.


• RN Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario required
• Recent birthing unit work experience (within the last 5 years) required
• BCLS certificate required
• Fetal Monitoring course preferred
• NRP certified preferred
• Education in breastfeeding preferred
• Perinatal certificate preferred
• Ability to scrub and circulate for Caesarean Sections an asset
• Demonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbal
• Analysis / problem assessment
• Innovative and willing to learn
• Commitment to customer service and teamwork
• Demonstrates individual leadership skills
• Proven ability to attend work regularly as per the Attendance Support Policy #HA30 and Procedure #HA35.
