Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of the Regional Cardiac Care Program the Manager, as a leader and member of the management team within the program is responsible and accountable for the co-ordination and direction of all patient care related activities within the unit, in collaboration with the medical director.
All unit personnel assigned to the clinical area report directly to the manager with regards to patient care and staff issues.
Provides an environment that supports and advances professional practice.
Leads the team in implementing evidence-based practices that are sensitive to limited resources within a patient centred care philosophy.
Role models professional and organizational core competencies.
Assumes leadership for projects and change initiatives.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent preferred
• Master’s Degree preferred
• Three (3) to five (5) years recent and relevant management experience in a clinical setting preferred, demonstrating progressive leadership responsibilities
• CNO or equivalent regulated health professional licence in Ontario.
• Other professional affiliations as appropriate
• Demonstrates knowledge in clinical practice.
• Demonstrated excellence in, customer service, analytical approach, teamwork, and leadership skills.
• Demonstrates excellence in interpersonal, written and oral communication, coaching, mentoring and team building skills that facilitate positive interactions among all members of the health care team.
• Demonstrates a clear understanding of the application of the RHPA legislation.
• Demonstrates superior understanding of systems, systems analysis techniques, value analysis process and continuous improvement principles and tools.
• Possesses highly developed analytical, problem solving, critical thinking skills.
• Working knowledge of the Southlake Regional Health Centre Attendance Management Program.
• Demonstrates a strong patient and customer focussed philosophy in all interactions.
• Possess the ability to introduce and effectively facilitate change.
• Demonstrates superior decision-making and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates commitment to professional development.
• Demonstrates knowledge of program planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, support and critical analysis in stressful, complex clinical and emotional situations.
• Ability to analyze, research and implement evidence-based practice into Policy and Procedure development and clinical practice.
• Ability to work with all health disciplines to achieve quality outcomes.
• Experience with guiding staff experiencing performance and/or attendance problems.
• Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all.

As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the Hospital’s Occupational Health and Safety department.
